Importing Contacts

Overview

Bulk-import clients (or suppliers) from a CSV/Excel file. Mapping wizard walks you through matching your columns to ninoPOS fields; dry-run preview catches mistakes before they land.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Prepare CSV

Clients → Import → Download template. Open in Excel, fill in your data (one row per client), save as CSV.

2

Upload File

Clients → Import → Upload. Pick your CSV.

3

Map Columns

The wizard auto-matches obvious columns (email → email). For anything ambiguous, pick the target field from a dropdown.

4

Dry-Run Preview

System validates every row: missing required fields, duplicate emails, malformed phones. Errors list lets you fix the CSV without losing the mapping.

5

Import

Once clean, click Import. Progress bar runs; on completion you get a summary (imported / skipped / errors).

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: For 1000+ rows, the import runs in the background — close the page and come back to a notification when done.
Tip: Duplicates are detected by email (or phone if email is blank). Existing records get updated, not overwritten — the importer never destroys data without a confirmed match.
