Restaurant Reports

Overview

Vertical-specific reports — covers (people fed), average ticket, food cost %, top menu items, open-tab aging, and station throughput. Replaces the back-of-napkin nightly close.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Daily Sales Summary

Restaurant → Reports → Daily Summary. Covers, total sales, avg ticket, voids, comps, refunds — all the night-close metrics.

2

Menu Performance

Items ranked by sales volume + by margin. Drops slow performers, doubles down on stars.

3

Food Cost %

Calculates cost-of-goods as a % of revenue. Industry target: 28-33% for casual dining. Anything above 35% means a recipe-engineering review.

4

Open Tabs / Voids

Tabs not closed by end of shift + voids by cashier — surfaces theft + training issues.

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: Print the Daily Summary at close, sign it, file it. Cheapest "anti-fraud" control a small restaurant can run.
