Overview

Manage leave balances, requests, approvals, and the company holiday calendar. Replaces the WhatsApp-then-Excel workflow most small teams default to.

Step-by-Step Guide

Configure Leave Types

HRM → Settings → Leave Types. Annual, Sick, Maternity, Paternity, Bereavement, Unpaid — add or edit. Set default entitlement (days/year) per type.

Set Balances

Per employee, the system tracks accrued vs. used balance. You can adjust manually for new hires or special cases under Employees → (employee) → Leave Balance.

Submit a Request

Employee dashboard → Leaves → New Request. Type, dates, reason. The system checks balance and warns if insufficient.

Approve / Reject

The reporting manager gets a notification + dashboard tile. One-click Approve/Reject. The decision is emailed to the employee.

Calendar View

HRM → Leaves → Calendar shows everyone's approved leaves so managers can spot coverage gaps before approving more.

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: For Tanzania/Kenya, set the public holidays at start of year under Settings → Holiday Calendar. The system blocks accidental leave requests on holidays.
Tip: Leave balances roll over at fiscal year end based on the policy you configure — strict, partial carryover, or full carryover.
